MINUTES Rep Meeting 3/5/15
3/6/2015

CORRIDOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Agenda

March 5, 2015

  1. REFEREES
    1. ALWAYS refs at games- thank you!
    2. Hybrid icing- not consistantly used. Need better explanation. CHRIS FEY will prepare a short video.
  2. PLAYERS – at wrong level?
    1. AB discussion- several B players are really A.  Not a big deal unless they are showing off.  Really irritates the teams.
    2. If "show off" behavior continues, they will be asked to leave B league.
    3. "DON'T STICK OUT" is the rule.
  3. SUBS
    1. Unanimously voted that NO NON-LEAGUE SUBS be allowed.  Makes people want to be in the league and SO MANY less headaches not collecting fees.
    2. ID cards easy to see when 'the wrong sub' is trying to sub down
    3. Are you keeping track of subs? Yes.  Lists will go out to team captains next FRIDAY
    4. NO SUBS IN PLAYOFFS.  PERIOD.
  4. LEAGUES
    1. AB LEAGUE
      1. Need to create AB league- all agreed
      2. Move top three teams to AB league, allow formation of fourth team
    2. BC/C LEAGUE - offer "training camp" run by A players who are also coaches, $50 pay for coaches
  5. SUMMER
    1. Two leagues
      1. Competitive - whole teams can register who want to play together, individuals who want a faster game or are at a higher level...SUNDAY NIGHTS....depending on numbers we can expand.
      2. Recreational - individuals register- we jumble the teams so that you play with new peopel JUST FOR FUN
    2. Two 5 week seasons to overcome family vacation issues, holidays
    3. Early Pricing offered as well as pricing for both halves of the season
  6. FALL LEAGUES
    1. Five levels
    2. How do we encourage players to move up when existing teams don’t want new players?
      1. TEAM PRICING- the A league has fewer players per team, and the bigger teams end up subsidizing them. If we did this, it would be roughly $2500 a team with a max of 12+ a goalie.  Why? We need to be able to put teams of  individuals together too, which would still be at the the $225 rate. Do not want 18 people signing up for a team, then subbing and not going to that game just for the financial benefits.  Yes, it's fun, but it's still a business.
      2. Team Pricing will encourage recruitment to the teams.
    3. Can we have more weeknight games?  This is something we will try to do for the fall season.  It is really difficult to "get back" times that were originally dedicated to adult league now that they have been given to curling club, etc.  If we do more weekday games, they will be late.  As long as you know this going into the season (so I don't have to listen to complaints!!!) I'm good with it!
  7. FINANCIAL REPORTS
    1. Fees- are they in line
      1. MUCH better deal than the arena
      2. Goalies happy. others say goalies should be free. Goalies were happy, so whatever.
    2. Here is how the money is being spent
