- Adult Instructional – adding this back in as part of F league. Being restructured.
- Season to start January 14th. There are a lot of weekend tournaments that cut into our time, as well as the Super Bowl and Easter which take away our Sundays.

- House Programs- over 50 kids consistently and lots of goalies!
- Try Hockey for Free Day- biggest in the country!!
Next event is March 3rd
- New Girl’s team: the Maidens of Mayhem have 25 registered players. CHA supported by underwriting the printing costs and coaches’ jackets and the arena donated practice ice for them.
- Referees
- Ref Jerseys available in the event people forget theirs/ offer to ref in a pinch
- Good group of refs, but we need more – REFFING CLINIC JANUARY 14th at 1:30pm You MUST attend if you have never attended a USA Hockey seminar to assure we are all on the same page with rule enforcement.
- I always want 2 refs on a game. Please sign up and help out instead of just complain.
- Finances
- Honesty, I haven’t looked at this bit quite yet. I know we’re good.
- Needs
- Goalie equipment for kids and adults.
- Jerseys for kid’s programs. Will get $ from the arena to do this
- Sending kid’s coaches to clinics
League Issues
- Reffing Issues
- Get rid of hybrid icing. Not enforced consistently, confusing to players. Voted on and passed. Goodbye hybrid icing on January 1.
- Some players still abusive to referees. Refs will continue to throw players in the box whose comments and/or language is directed AT them. However, comments made about the referee or Heather (or anyone else for that matter) to teammates are not considered abuse of official.
- Refs need to notify teams when the clock goes to a running clock.
- When puck is not in the attacking zone, it is NOT offsides. Put your arm down, you’re confusing people.
- If you can ref A, B or C, please do. Please don’t sign up for the D, E and F games. You might be able to ref down, but many refs max out at D league and are unable to sign up when the higher level refs take the lower level games.
- Ref clinic on January 14th from 1:30 -3:00pm.
- SAFETY Issues
- Slapshots from waist level are allowed. NO CRANKING ALL THE WAY UP. D level players often do not have control and are not looking when they shoot, creating a potential dangerous position to everyone on the ice. In general these hit nowhere near the goal and often hit players not in the line of the shot because they are usually poorly executed. If player cranks up over their head they will receive a warning the first time, the second time they will be asked to leave the game.
- Skating at the wrong level….if you are playing at a level that is challenging for you, do not use other people as security. Do not grab jerseys or body parts to try to stay upright. You’re wearing protective gear so you CAN fall. Try it. If you fall too much, move down a level and improve your skills before attempting again.
- SUB Issues:
- MAXIMUM OF 2 SUBS FOR A TOTAL OF TEN PLAYERS. Also, captains should inform the other captain of their subs as a courtesy. If you only have six players, you may only have 2 subs, for a total of eight. Complain to your team members who didn’t show up. No team with members missing should have an advantage over a team that shows up. This rule may be suspended if both captains agree, however, the opposing team has the option of taking the W by forfeit.
- NO SUBBING DOWN- two games were forfeited this season for illegal substitutions.
- SUB TAGS- the Roughriders office now requires you to show your CHA tag to get the discount on tickets. I am working through a better system to collect and return tags, possibly before you go to your locker room. This would ensure everyone has their tags when they need them and you wouldn’t have to take them on the ice with you.
- PLAYER Issues: players controlling the game, whether or not they are high scoring need to move. Some players can play to a lower level consistently, others cannot.
- D league voted that Kevin Gorman needs to move up. (voted in October).
- F league voted that Bryan Hurt, Chris Peterson and Kirke Rogers need to move up.
- Others were discussed, however, they already had planned on moving up, so no discussion was needed.
- TEAMS FOR NEXT SEASON
- A - no change (5 total)
- B - no change (7 total)
- C - no change (6 total)
- D - addition of Unicorns and Foxes (8 total)
- E - addition of KGB players plus a few extras moving up (6 total)
- F – restructured to four teams with revolving goalies (4 total)
- F LEAGUE Restructuring
- An 11 week season (instead of 12) and no playoffs. Will use the other 4 games (5 hours) for Instructional.
- Instructional weeks will be January 10, January 31, February 21, March 14th and April 4th. Times will vary: the 10th will be from 8-9pm; January 31st and February 21stwill be from 9-10pm. After that, the youth travel programs will end, so the times will likely be much earlier.
- Teams will be assembled on January 10th by Jason Johnson, Bob Iverson, Ryan Lukaszka and Jon Blasidell after evaluations are done at the Instructional session that night. Players will be rated on skating, puck handling and positioning and teams will be balanced to include experienced and novice players.
