About the Corridor Hockey Association

The Corridor Hockey Association was started BY the players, FOR the players.

We don't just play hockey.  We sponsor Try Hockey For Free twice a year, have a suite at the Roughriders game for players to use, support the youth programs at golf tournaments and home hockey tournaments as contributors and volunteers, and participate throughout the community in parades and kids' activity fairs.  We can't WAIT for you to join us!!!

Our goal is to build a safe yet competitve community of hockey players who want to advance the sport both individually and regionally.  With players from  Waterloo and Iowa City, were truly are a "corridor" organization, over 400 strong and growing every day.  Anyone high school age and older is invited to play at one of seven levels, depending on their skills and comfort level. Here is a breakdown of the levels:

A League: elite league for high school and college players who may be only a few years beyond those levels and are in good physical condition. Play is fast and physical (although checking is not allowed). Players have excellent control over skating, passing and shooting and are rarely out of position.

B League: is the correct league for players will above average skills and a physical style of play. A players may double roster into this league, but will be distributed among the teams to ensure that one team isn't stacked.

C League: the correct league for players with above average hockey skills. Players are comfortable with a fast, physical game and are here to have fun at a fast pace. NO A LEVEL PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THIS LEAGUE.

D League: the correct league for players with intermediate hockey skills. Typically players have high school experience, and are comfortable with a fast paced game and are able to keep up with the game and control it at times.

E  League: a competitive league for players who are comfortable on their skates, and are beginning to exercise skill at positioning and teamwork, but are still working on stick handling and crossovers

F League: a recrational league for players who are comfortable on their skates, and are beginning to exercise skill at positioning and teamwork, but are still working on stick handling and crossovers

Recognizing that hockey is an expensive sport, we strive to keep fees to a minimum, gaining community support from businesses who donate money back to our organization, and hosting an equipment exchange to help new players tryout a sport whose initial investment for gear can sometimes seems overwhelming.
